New Flood Risk Management Journal

Wiley-Blackwell has launched this new peer-reviewed on-line journal with the first issue scheduled for March 2008. The Associate Editors include Jim Hall, Paul Samuels and Jochen Schanze from FLOODsite and other FLOODsite team members have been approached to join the editorial board of the Journal.

IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (AR4)

The International Symposium on Future Climate, Impacts and Responses was organised by DG research in Brussels on 19th and 20th November. The symposium brought together leading scientists on climate change from inside and outside Europe. Its objective was to share knowledge and to discuss urgent research needs by considering key findings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) and on-going EC funded research.

Flood risk management in Catalunya

FLOODsite partner UPC in Barcelona has recently organised another in an annual series of workshops to disseminate the project results into the regional context with the assistance of the local FLOODsite application and implementation advisory board (AIB) member Jose Luis Colomer. Prof Agustin Sanchez-Arcilla now reports on how representatives of the various departments from the regional administration found out about the latest progress on FLOODsite.
