Taught courses
FLOODsite has developed a taught European masters course on Flood Risk Management – the FLOODsite European Master (FEM) platform. This course has been developed and integrated into two existing postgraduate courses:
- Dresden University of Technology, Germany - The module is called “Integrated flood risk management of extreme events” and forms part of the FLOODmaster programme within the university’s master course “Hydro Science and Engineering”. The FLOODmaster programme was originally designed for full-time students at the university, but can also be undertaken by professionals as part of their continuing professional development as it has a modular structure and the majority of material can be accessed via the internet. Details of the FLOODmaster programme can be found here.
- University of Padova, Italy - This forms part of the existing masters course on “Hydrogeological risk mitigation”, taught under the patronage of UNESCO. Example lectures can be found under Project Publications for Task 31 (see presentations). Further details of this course can be found here.
