The whole website together describes different aspects of flood risk management and all can be used in lessons. As a suggestion how to use the website, the material is arranged around three themes. The followings lesson themes are available:
- Flood risk management: A lesson theme about flood risk management, flooding in Europe and New Orleans, and the effect of the changing climate on flooding. This theme can de done individually, or in groups or in the class as a whole. It is suited for geography lessons, but is linked to economy, mathematics, social studies.
- Flood types and hydrology: A lesson theme about flood types and flood events and some of the hydrology and water management issues behind it. This theme can de done individually, or in groups. It is suited for geography lessons, but is linked to physics, mathematics.
- Forming an opinion and debating about flood risks: A lesson theme about the societal aspects of flooding. The emphasis is on discussion about flood risk management and fairness issues. For this theme discussion with others is vital. This is best suited for doing in the class as a whole, or in groups. It is (again) suited for geography lessons, but could also be used in social studies or English.
