Role-playing game: Information meeting about evacuation plan Greenwood

The mayor of Greenwood is pleased to announce that the evacuation plan for Greenwood has been completed. All citizens of Greenwood have received a simple evacuation map with all the necessary information.

Please go to the information meeting to hear more, ask questions and discuss the plan with the officials involved and with other citizens.

The role-playing game contains a lot of information about the many aspects to consider in evacuation planning. It is a way to get an insight in the process of evacuation and the preparation of an evacuation, without having to read all the information on the subject individually. The roles each bring in a small piece of information. While “playing”, all those pieces of information are shared. Furthermore, the playing of this game is a good way to engage students with the subject.

Evacuation planning and water management is organised differently throughout Europe. Please adapt the script where necessary.
